As a citizen of a country that overthrew two presidents in the last 25 years through People Power revolutions, I extend my deepest and heartfelt congratulations to the Egyptian people. I admire their courage, bravery and steadfastness to fight for a better future for themselves and their children. I pray that they hold on to their resolve in the coming weeks, months and years to make sure that the freedom that they seek truly become a reality. May they take this opportunity and keep the momentum for positive, meaningful and lasting change, as it will not come easy. We Filipinos know, as we’re still trying make sense of how to benefit from the freedom that we fought for 25 years ago.
