Prayers for Japan
A blogger had commented that the Japanese people may not need our prayers.
While the Japanese people may have done due diligence in preparation for a calamity such as this, the call for prayer is not merely about supplication for specific help or assistance (although there is nothing wrong with that either). It is a prayer in empathy for the hardship that they are going through, to sustain them as they count their dead and look for their missing. There are many things that one can and need to be frugal with. Thoughtful, sincere prayer for others’ wellbeing doesn’t have to be one of them.
